Director, Family Doctor
Dr. Ryan Chen
Dr. Ryan Chen is the founder and director of Empyrea Medical Centre. He trained in the US at Chicago Medical School before returning to Canada to complete his Family Medicine residency at McMaster University. Dr. Chen spent his early career working in downtown Toronto before coming to the town of Stouffville, where he enjoys practicing comprehensive primary care for the local community.
Dr. Chen is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He plans to continue to teach students and guide them towards a career path in primary care.
Beyond family medicine, Dr. Chen trained and worked for many years at the Yorkville Vein Clinic, where he practiced sclerotherapy for varicose veins. He plans to reintroduce this and other specialty procedures to enhance local healthcare services.
Empyrea Medical was designed by Dr. Chen as a passion project, to create an ideal place of healing that he feels Canadians deserve. Dr. Chen looks forward to welcoming all to his vision for a warm and supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Stouffville Medical Arts Building
The Stouffville Medical Arts building at 211 Sam Miller Way is a newly developed, four-storey medical office building in Stouffville, near Highway 48 and Sam Miller Way. Spanning 40,000 sqft, it was designed to accommodate exclusively healthcare services such as family medicine, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, specialists, dentistry, and allied health professionals.
Empyrea Medical Centre is located on the 4th floor, and provides a welcoming and contemporary environment for patients and staff, with modern examination rooms and spaces designed to support comprehensive family medicine and specialty care.
